Fall.
Picture from the Institute for Mathematics and its
Applications (IMA), which is where I am at.
An exciting coke with no caffeine and no sugar. It is
lukewarm and it sparkles no more, for it has been standing there all
day.
A windy day.
These cute little things are all over campus when the
weather is not too bad.
Vinter.
If I don't breathe lightly, my tongue goes numb.
Here I am ten meters above the ground, in a lift
with no restraints to prevent a fall. I asked two people if anyone
ever fell off, and they both independently said "don't worry, that
doesn't happen very often" (!?).
I am very proud of my chrismas decorations.
My office at low entropy.
It's almost worth a car just to see.
It's true.
'You can end up in surprising places traveling to a
conference at Yale.'
We were invited to stay at the Omni Hotel. They
actually employ people to go into each room and place all the pillows
you see on the left on the floor in the evening. The maids then put
them back in the morning.
New York City.
It's summer! Hi bird.
Mall of America, an amusement park with two enclosing
circles of stores in three stories.
I ordered three pens. The box, I did not expect.
My friend Anders. We have the same PhD-advisor.
Work increases entropy, and doubly so if you've got
two desks.
What genius named a brand of condom after the Trojan horse?
The red cross is placed where my nose smashed into the
glass. The red circles indicate the places where my performance gave
the staff a merry time.
Todo-list. I was busy.
In the US prices rarely include tax and tips, so you pay
with bills and get back coins. In Denmark tax is always included, and
you are never expected to tip, so paying the exact amount is easy. The
pile on the left is the 134$ coin mountain i accumulated after
three months in the US, while the pile on the right is my accumulation
of danish coins after 23 years in Denmark.
It seems to me to be something of an insult to
actually put this stamp on a letter and send it to someone.
US tobacco companies are getting desperate.
Every third US toilet door is removed to better
monitor the terrorists.
A winding stair walkway.
An impressively rectangular building.
I bought this Windows XP computer, and before it even
arrived by mail, the company sent me an email saying: "The countdown
is over. Windows Vista has arrived, and the time to purchase a new
state-of-the-art computer system is now." Great.
I'm always at my most attractive right out of bed.
I learned to juggle!
